Covid-19: Newborn triplets test positive for Covid-19

Three newborn babies described to be triplet had tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus in Mexico,according to the local health authorities. 

Medical experts are still not certain on how the triplets contracted the deadly Coronavirus, so they have started an investigation to know whether or not the virus has been passed on to them through the mother's placenta at pregnancy. 

Two of the babies are boys,and the other, a girl. One of the boys and the other girl are in stable condition, but the other boy is in a critical condition and hence undergoing treatment in a hospital at San Luis Potosí State.

A very small number of newborn babies have been known to have the virus after birth ,but health officials say they do not believe this is what happened in this case. 

State health secretary Mónica Liliana Rangel Martínez said "it would be impossible for them to have been infected at the moment of birth". 

Mexico's Covid-19 case count now stands at 185,000 with 22,584 deaths.
