The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was set to update the nation on the measures taken against the spread of the Coronavirus on July 26,2020.

MAJOR POINTS IN THE PRESIDENT'S 14TH UPDATE ON CORONAVIRUS
1. 127,143 students in the Universities and other tertiary institutions have now completed their final exams successfully.
2. Few cases of infections were recorded in the tertiary Institutions, the few in the SHSs have all either recovered or are on the path to full recovery,and will write the WASSCE.
3. Government continues to engage with stakeholders in the education sector to determine the conditions for the further reopening of schools,after the current examinations are concluded by mid September.
4. Incentive packages for health workers for another 3months ie. July,August,September.
5. Ghanaians to enjoy free water for another 3 months.
6. Extension of free electricity supply to lifetime tariff customers until the end of the year.
7. Communication Service Tax has also reduced from 9 to 5 percent, effective September 2020.
8. National Unemployment Insurance Scheme to support workers that lost their jobs - once approved by Parliament.
9. Government is increasing funding under the CAP Business Support Scheme,with additional Gh¢150 million.
10. Government is establishing a guarantee Scheme of Gh¢2 billion to enable businesses access credit at more affordable rates.
11. 32,969 people are infected so far,but the figure to look out for is the number of ACTIVE CASES.
12. As at midnight of July 24 - after the 13th Address - nearly a month later the number of active cases stands at 3,307.
13. Ghana's recovery rate has improved from 75% of positives ,a month ago,to 89.5% all in one month currently.
14. Tourist sites and drinking spots now opened,however cinemas, beaches,pubs and nightclubs remain closed.
15. Churches,mosques now released from it's restrictions but to have services in 2 hours.
