The Ghana Education Service(GES) has meted out the strongest punishment yet to 14 students of four Senior High Schools for various offences related to the ongoing West African Senior High Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
Among these students is the Senior Prefect of Tweneboah Koduah Senior High School, Simon Ameyibor.
Some of the students were seen in viral videos verbally attacking authorities including the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.
The schools affected are Sekondi College,Tweneboa Koduah SHS,Battor SHS,and Juaben SHS.
"All students who are in the schools where destruction of school property occurred are to be surcharged for the full cost of the damage," a statement issued by the Director General of GES,Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa,on Friday,August 7 said.
"Results of these students will be withheld till they have fully paid up the full cost of the items destroyed."
