According to the Minister of Education, Hon Matthew Opoku Prempeh, all schools ranging from the basic level to the tertiary are to resume in September 2020.
This was announced in the early hours of Thursday, July 30 2020,by the Education Minister.
According to the Minister, since the President has lowered the restrictions as far as Covid-19 is concerned,it has also become necessary for schools to resume.
He also added that it was better to see our children in school rather than them just being at home, and the Ministry of Education has put all safety measures in place to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in our schools.
Teachers and students will be provided with PPEs to help keep them safe while they're in school, just as it was done for the final year students.
The current status of the country in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic showed that the number of recoveries has increased appreciably and people are entreated to focus on the number of active cases the country currently has. From this view has the Education Minister no doubt about students returning to school in September.
The Minister therefore encouraged all stakeholders to put in their best to make sure the process is a success. Students are also advised to debunk fear-induced comments about covid-19 but stick to practicing social distancing and adhere to all the safety measures.
