PTA Chair Of Sekondi College Begs Nana Addo On Behalf Of Students

The PTA Chairman Sekondi College (Sekco),Mr. Isaac Cobbinah, who also doubles as the Western Regional PTA Chairman, had rendered an unqualified apology to President Nana Akufo-Addo on the insubordinate act of some final year students of the school.

The 2020 West African Senior High Schools Certificate Examinations(WASSCE) has been characterised by the violence as some of the students claimed the Integrated Science paper they wrote on Monday was too difficult coupled with strict invigilation, among others.

So far, students of Tweneboah Koduah SHS and Juaben SHS,both in the Ashanti Region ,as well as their mates at Ndewura Jakpa Senior High Technical School in the Savanna Region, engaged in riots.

Investigators of WAEC were also assaulted and seriously injured by students of Bright Senior High School in Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region on Thursday over strict invigilation.

In the Western Region, about four students of Sekondi College did a video recording themselves insulting the President and daring him to dash them marks ,else, he will face their wrath among other abusive languages.

"Nana Addo, you are also in the final year o,so you better give us marks ....,or else," the said in the video.

On Friday, the Ghana Education Service (GES) cracked the whip as three students of Sekco were summarily dismissed.

According to the PTA Chairman,an agreement reached by the stakeholders in the settlement of this incident include rendering an apology to the President, allowing the boys to write their exams while invigilators go on unabated.

This case is still under investigation.
