After 10 hours of voting, polls were officially closed to mark the start of the counting process across the country at 5:00 pm.
The process was mostly peaceful and smooth according to the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) but for a few cases of queue mismanagement and isolated cases of violence.
Electoral Commission (EC) officials and political party agents are at various collating centres across the country where counting ongoing.
The EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa stated at a press briefing that large screens had been procured to project the collated figures to avoid crowding.
Ghanaians are still expecting results from 38,622 polling stations and 275 Constituencies in 16 Regions.
Information reaching NeWsMaStErGh is that the sitting President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwar Akufo-Addo and the NPP is leading with 54.65% over 47.34% of the NDC as counting is still ongoing.
It was also known that the NPP has lost about 15 Parliamentary seats across the country, while the NDC on the other hand,has gained about 36 new parliamentary seats.
